Major funding boost for mathematical sciences in the UK

As part of a package of announcements today, the Government has announced additional funding for mathematical sciences. Major funding announced by Prime Minister Boris Johnson today, Monday 27 January 2020, will provide a significant boost to the UK’s world-leading mathematical sciences community, increasing support for this key discipline and increasing the pool of trained mathematicians. The additional funding of up to £300 million will more than double the current funding for the mathematical sciences delivered by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
